Not every Indian food night needs to be a reservation, a dress code, and a tasting-menu pace. Sometimes you just want to walk in with the kids on a Tuesday, get a table, and eat well without planning around it. That's the restaurant we've built since 2006 — casual enough for a weeknight, good enough that it's also where people bring their families for something worth celebrating.
Walk-ins welcome, every night
You don't need to book ahead at Rani Mahal — reservations are available if you want one, but walking in works too, any night of the week. That matters more than it sounds like when you're coordinating a family with kids, unpredictable schedules, or a last-minute "let's just go get Indian food tonight" decision.
Built for a table with different appetites
A family table rarely agrees on spice level, and our menu is built around that. Most curries run on an adjustable spice system — mild, medium, or spicy, picked per dish, per person if you want — so the same order can have one plate that's kid-friendly mild and another that's genuinely hot, without two separate kitchens or two separate visits. Vegetarian eaters aren't an afterthought either: a full vegetarian appetizer and entree section sits right alongside the tandoori and meat dishes, not a single token option at the bottom of the menu.
The Sunday buffet
If picking exact dishes for a table of picky eaters sounds like more decision-making than a family outing needs, the Sunday all-you-can-eat buffet solves that directly — a full spread laid out, everyone serves themselves what they want, kids included. No ordering negotiation, no "will they even like it" risk on a single dish. Reserve a spot — seating is limited.
Halal, for the families who need that to be non-negotiable
All meat served at Rani Mahal is 100% halal — not a special order, not a subset of the menu, the standard across everything we cook. If that's a requirement for your family rather than a preference, it's built into the kitchen, not something you have to ask about dish by dish.
No headcount minimum, either
Just feeding your own household tonight, no party, no minimum order? The Family Meal and Group Meal are flat-price bundles — real dishes, one price, ready in about 25 minutes for pickup or free delivery. No catering-style minimum guest count standing between you and a full family dinner on a random Tuesday.
Casual doesn't mean less care — it just means you shouldn't need a special occasion to eat well. Come see us on Mamaroneck Ave, no reservation required.
